Dubai Women’s College (DWC), a Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) flagship institution, announced that it has introduced a first of its kind online service for payment. DWC is the first federal higher education institution that provides online payment to its business and professional community.

The new value-added service, which is part of DWC goal of simplifying the lives of business and professional community, facilitates all DWC departments to conduct e-payments for the services that are offered online. Business and professional community as well as students now have the option of using a credit card to pay online for any different DWC services.

Dr. Behjat Al Yousuf, Associate Director of DWC stated that this initiative is first of its kind towards automating the college functionalities and making them available 24 hours a day. This makes DWC services up to date with the world standard of using technology to ease services. “This service is also towards paper-less office procedure and therefore reducing DWC production of carbon footprint,” she said.

Professional and business community can now pay Conference Registration Fees and rental fees of DWC facilities such as the Auditorium online. The new service will also facilitate online payment of donations towards limited-income students and international study trips that provide students with international exposure and help them take up leadership positions later in their careers in the UAE economy.

In the near future, DWC students can also submit their payments of laptops, lost ID Cards, Graduation Kits… through this easy-to-use convenient service that is available via Internet.

Gliffton Mendes, DWC Information System Coordinator said, “With growing demand, we will continue to add various other services to enable online payments within our college. Due to the increase in online transactions, we have also automated the online payments reconciliation system.”

The system is designed like any other online payment system. Students can login to the DWC portal and common hosted page is presented where users can enter credit card details and submit the payment. The payment gateway is compliant to Visa, MasterCard and JCB standards known as 3D Secure. When the transaction is successfully completed, an online receipt is generated which can be printed for future records, a copy of the receipt is also emailed to the user making the payment.
