DuPont highlights role in enhancing safety and environmental sustainability of buildings

DuPont, one of the leading market driven science companies hosted Architectural and Industrial engineering students of ALHOSN University, who shared science behind increasing the performance of building systems and creating more sustainable structures. ALHOSN University is one of the leading educational institutions for Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, and Management Information Systems located in Abu Dhabi. 

The session was led by Tony Azzam, Regional Business Manager DuPont Building Innovations, Turkey, Middle East & Africa, who shared DuPont rich history of bringing science to the marketplace in ways that change people’s lives. “We're finding innovative solutions to create residential and commercial buildings that operate more efficiently. At DuPont Building Innovations, our building science plays a significant role in making homes and buildings that are safer, sounder, look newer longer and provide greater environmental sustainability. These students are our future and we were pleased to share the diversity of DuPont construction solutions and demonstrate product excellence to them,” he said.

Mohamad Kaafarani, Territory Manager, DuPont Building Innovations-Lower Gulf introduced DuPont Corian - one of the most versatile solid surface materials in the global marketplace today. Meanwhile, Marie Azbini, Product Specialist-Landscape Sustainable Solutions -DuPont Building Innovations addressed today’s landscaping challenges and how DuPont is providing expert solutions with professional weed and root control systems without herbicides, to cost-effective surfacing and controlled permeability. The session concluded with a “Touch & Feel” field trip to the Corian Fabrication facility in Sharjah where students discovered Corian as a material with endless potential with different inlays, seamless backsplashes, and inline sinks.

Our students pledged to develop United Arab Emirates in a sustainable built environment,” said Ms. Naima Benkari, Ph.D, Director of Planning and Campus Development (PCD) - Assistant professor, Department of Architecture, Faculty of engineering and applied sciences, ALHOSN University.
