The 12-year-old boy, who was very impressed by French President Emmanuel Macron’s car, attended the 2018 World Cup’s semifinal between France and Belgium in St. Petersburg, Russia, the Elysee Palace said Tuesday.

The boy had appeared in a video in 2017, asking the French president whether his car is a “transformer”, like the famed cartoon and movie characters, reported the German news agency.

The Elysee Palace said that the 12-year-old, who met Macron during a visit to a youth sports camp near Paris in August 2017, was part of the presidential delegation attending the match.

The president’s office had previously released a video of Macron with the boy while taking a closer look at the car’s chassis.

France defeated Belgium to make it to the World Cup final, which will be held on Sunday.
