According to AFP, a tiger was spotted wandering through a traffic jam in Qatar's capital city, Doha.

People stuck in their cars took to social media to post pictures and videos of the confused cat. According to AFP, it appeared that the tiger jumped out the back of a moving truck.

Qatar's Interior media responded on social media, tweeting: “We assure all that the concerned authorities (are) following up with what has been trending over spotting a tiger in some areas of the country.”

A final picture on social media shows that the animal was safely captured by authorities.

It a popular trend for wealthy Gulf families to adopt exotic, and sometimes dangerous, pets, despite repeated warnings from government and animal rights activists.
