According to the Sudan Tribute, two drunken gunmen in military uniforms opened fire in the center of the Teiba neighborhood, causing the residents to panic and call the police.

Police officers immediately arrived on the scene and exchanged fire with the men. Sudan Tribune stated that the fighting escalated to machine guns and heavy weaponry. The gunmen were subdued after about fifteen minutes of fighting.

A security source said that the men were wounded in the firefight and arrested by police. The public prosecutor has begun taking the necessary steps to hold the accused accountable.

The men are believed to have acted alone, out of intoxication, and the shooting spree was not premeditated.
