Seven has truly been a lucky number for cancer survivor Marilyn Dunlap of Indiana.
Dunlap, a retired school bus driver, has battled aggressive breast cancer with surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy rounds since May, but a doctor told her she tested negative for cancer at a recent visit.
"They have to check your blood, your platelets, and your white cells and see if the can find cancer cells. But I didn't have any. I was good," she told FOX59.
Her luck didn't end there.
Dunlap and her husband both enjoy playing the lottery and on June 7, he bought a $5 "7 Scratch-off."
After scratching the ticket, he handed the $77,777 winner to his wife, and said it was all hers.
Dunlap said that she loved her job, but retired to deal with the cancer treatment.
The lottery money will allow the 68-year-old to retire more comfortably since she will be able to pay off her car and other lingering medical bills. Dunlap is also planning to use the money for a trip to California with her grandson, who just graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
