Moments after Miss Congo, Dorcas Kasinde, was announced the winner of Miss Africa 2018 pageant, her hair caught on fire from celebratory fireworks on stage.
Video of the incident has become viral and shows Miss Congo's hair in flames just after she was crowned Miss Africa 2018 in Cross River State in Nigeria.

Footage from the competition shows Kasinde and another finalist awaiting results moments before Kasinde is announced as the winner. She is seen rejoicing and embracing her competitor as fireworks start off with showers of sparks coming down onto the stage. That's when Kasinde's hair catch fire and rapidly start to spread. Fortunately, a man standing behind Kasinde jumps to help her put out the flames.
The beauty queen escaped unhurt in the accident and is seen in the video wearing her crown. She later thanked her fans for their support and said on Instagram that she was happy to be the new Miss Africa 2019 Calabar, according to reports in Indian Express.
