The Indian government will be giving unmarried girls nearly INR10,000 ($145) who pass their intermediate exams in Bihar.
The good news was related by an education department official.
The one-time award for such girls will be transferred to their bank accounts in July, as reported by The Indian Express.
As part of an ongoing initiative to help girls and offer incentives to continue their education up to grade 12, the state also plans to award girls INR54,100 ($790).
