A Conservative student in Tehran was seen waving a purple bra in class, criticizing the support of modern urban women for Rouhani.

At an event held in an Iranian University, the student proclaimed that young and stylish women are being used in the current presidential campaign to lure male students into voting for Rouhani.

As for the bra, it remains largely unclear as to what exactly the student was aiming to achieve by waving the garment over his head. The choice of the colour purple is, however said to be a deliberate one, representing the official colour of the Rouhani campaign. The moment was captured on camera and uploaded on instagram in the following post.

The Upcoming Presidential Elections

Campaigning is gaining momentum as the deadline for the presidential election on May 19th draws closer. President Rouhani, the frontrunner in the reformist camp and current President of the Islamic Republic hopes to secure a second term of victory. He is facing increasingly tough competion from Conservative and Hardliner candidates Raesi and Ghalibaf.
