The Internal Security Forces Saturday announced the arrest of a man alleged to have sexually assaulted his special needs son in Halba, in northern Akkar.

The suspect, whom the ISF did not identify, was arrested Saturday, two days after a complaint was filed against him. His victim was identified as having been born in 1999; the security agency provided no further details.

The ISF said in a statement that residents of Lebanon should not hesitate to report crimes of this nature.
