Security forces arrested a “dangerous” drug-dealer during a dawn raid after carefully monitoring the suspect for almost four months, the Internal Security Forces said Sunday.
“At 2 a.m. on June 9 ... a patrol unit from the Central Drug Enforcement Office arrested one of the most dangerous criminals wanted for drug dealing and production, in Jbeil’s Hboub village,” the statement read.
The suspect was identified as Lebanese national S.F., born in 1979. He reportedly had 16 drug-related warrants out for his arrest, as well as some for theft and attempted murder.
“All precautionary measures were taken [before the raid],” the statement added, noting that the door to the target building was bulletproof and a weapons cache was found inside.
At the time of S.F.’s arrest, he was in possession of close to $500,000 in cash, as well as a Kalashnikov and a Glock pistol.
The suspect’s wife, who was present at the time of his arrest, was also detained.
