Lebanese Army Intelligence Monday arrested a suspect who had earlier in the day opened fire on the house of another man in the southern city of Sidon, a security said.
The suspect, who was identified as Mustapha A., was arrested while trying to enter the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp. The camp has become a haven for fugitives, including extremists, and Lebanese security forces customarily don’t enter.
Sources said that Lebanese Army soldiers had raided the suspect’s home in Sidon’s old city, seizing a military-grade pistol and a large sum of money.
