Police at the Grand Mosque arrested a man who was reportedly leafleting passers-by, asking for help in his quest to find his Abigail. Although Saudi authorities later denied that he was encroaching on the public with his desire for the perfect Jewish match.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Abdulmohsen Maiman told the local daily Al-Hayat that the 49-year-old Saudi batchelor could be suffering from a “mental disorder.”
The man was found in possession of “five documents containing contradictory information showing the man's mental state and expressing his desire to marry a Jewish a woman,” Al-Hayat reported.
He is now facing prosecution, after which he will probably be transferred to a “specialist physician.”
