S. Korean Rich Woman Litter Streets With Money as Act of Charity

Her mother says she wanted to give money to people as an act of charity.

The streets of Daegu in South Korea were littered with money after a wealthy woman threw cash on the road as an act of charity.

The woman threw banknotes worth 15.8 million won (Dh51,175) as she drove along the street, an Indian Express report said.

The video of the incident shows cash scattered on the streets, taking people by surprise.

According to news agency Yonhap, police rushed in to gather cash from several streets and parking spaces. The woman drove through 11 places, dumping money on her way.

The mother of the woman has said that her daughter wanted to give money to people as an act of charity.

All the money was returned to the police by the people since collecting cash from roads is an offence in the country.
