A Saudi court sentenced a man to eight years in prison because of his inflammatory tweets.

Saudi officials accuse the man of inciting protests and mocking the government. The man has been convicted of encouraging “families of those arrested for security reasons to protest by publishing tweets and videos on YouTube,” the Justice Department says.

The court also banned the defendant from traveling for eight years and posting anything on social media.

The Saudi Interior Ministry has said it will imprison anyone who promotes terrorist organizations on social media.
