Ten Bangladeshi workers stood trial for causing the death of four people at a workers' accommodation in Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance heard that the Asian victims, including two workers and two women, were found dead at the workers' rooms in Musaffah industrial area.

Police had been notified about the incident after one worker complained to them about a very bad smell that emanated from the room in his neighbourhood.

Cops went to the scene and found four bodies that had been left there for many hours.

It was not clear what exactly caused the death of the workers and women. The women's presence at the workers' accommodation was a violation of government labour accommodation rules.

After an investigation, police arrested the 10 Bangladeshi men that were in charge of the room and believed to have been involved in the murder of the victims.

Investigations found that the defendants used their room for prostitution activities and were allegedly sneaking women who dressed like men into their room to have paid sex with the workers.

During investigations, some of the Bangladeshi workers admitted that they had set up the room and were giving it out to people who wanted to have sex with their girlfriends or other women.

The men said they were helping the women to secretly enter into the men's accommodation during the evening and late in the night. The workers also denied taking part in the victims' death.

They told authorities that their colleague, the main defendant in the case, was the one who was responsible for the death of the Asians. They, however, didn't give reasons behind the death of the victims.

Prosecutors charged the men with causing death of the Asian nationals. The trial was adjourned until April.
