A court on Tuesday extended the detention of two Greek soldiers, who were detained after they crossed the border in northwestern Turkey, according to a judicial source.
The court noted since the soldiers did not have permanent residency, they can run away when they are released, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media.
There is a concrete evidence showing the the crime has been committed by the suspects and the envisaged punishment for the act is 5 years imprisonment, the source added.
Two Greek soldiers had been remanded into custody earlier this month after they "inadvertently" crossed the border in northwestern Turkey.
