Two expats of “Asian” nationality have been arrested in the Wilayat of Seeb on drug-related charges, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.

Officials said that the expats were arrested for possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking and abuse.

“The Directorate General for the Control of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances arrested two expats of Asian nationality in Seeb, on charges of possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking and abuse,” ROP said in a statement online.

Police recovered psychotropic substances in their possession.

The accused have been referred to judicial authorities for further investigation.

The Royal Oman Police calls upon citizens and residents to co-operate in combating the drug scourge and to give police any information that helps in the detection of drug smugglers and traffickers by calling 9999 or the toll-free number of the General Directorate for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (1444) or by going to the nearest police station.
