This is the moment two of France's most famous rappers brawled inside a duty free shop at an airport in Paris in front of terrified passengers.

Elie Yaffa – who uses the stage name Booba – and Okou Armand Gnakouri – who calls himself Kaaris, along with their entourages, clashed violently before rampaging through Orly Airport lobby and hurling bottles of perfume at each other.

Eleven men were arrested following the brawl which has been widely shared on social media, including Booba, 41, wearing a black t-shirt, and Kaaris, 38, dressed in grey.

Both rappers were on their way to Barcelona to give a concert in different nightclubs when their paths crossed, with the pair having feuded since 2013.

Footage posted on social media showed the men fighting between the shelves of the shop and chasing and kicking one another around the departure lounge.

Frightened passengers, many of whom were with young children, were filmed fleeing the scene as the burly men trade punches and kicks, one one man even hammering another with a bottle of perfume.

In one video, a man is pinned against a wall shielding himself as three others punch, kick and hurl objects at him.

The brawl became so intense that Orly’s Departure Lounge 10 in Hall 1 of the west terminal was shut down for an hour, with some flights delayed or cancelled.

‘All of the men were arrested at the scene, and the 11 are all in custody, and being interviewed about what went on,’ said an investigating source.

Charges for a range of public order offences could follow before the suspects are released, the source added.

Booba, 41, and Kaaris, 38, were meanwhile prevented from travelling to Barcelona, where they were due to perform at different club gigs.

Both are bitter rap rivals, and frequently exchange angry words on social media, but this is the first time that their hatred is known to have spilled over into real life violence.

Their fighting was filmed, with a lot of the videos appearing on platforms including Twitter and Facebook.

At one stage, Booba is seen with his shirt off, screaming ‘Get to hospital!”

Booba was once a mentor to Kaaris, but their professional relationship turned sour in around 2012.

In April, Booba provoked his rival by postage a montage of Kaaris’s greatest hits, saying he – Booba – was responsible for all his best work.

'A small number of flights were delayed by 15 to 30 minutes at the time of the fight and the hall was temporarily closed,' a spokesperson for the airport said.

Booba, real name Élie Yaffa, is one of France's most successful rap artists, having sold millions of albums worldwide. He previously collaborated with Kaaris, whose real name is Okou Armand Gnakouri.
