The Sharjah Police are investigating the death of a 43-year-old woman whose body was found hanging from the ceiling of her apartment in a building in Al Dhaid city on Monday night. The woman was living with her husband and five children - the youngest being one year.
Police said the initial probe revealed that the woman committed suicide by hanging herself using a rope after her Emirati husband told her that he was planning to marry a Moroccan woman.
Acting on the information about the incident, a police team comprising officers from forensics, patrols and CID rushed to the site and carried out an investigation. The team interrogated all the family members and collected their fingerprints. The body was shifted to the forensic laboratory for an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of the woman's death.
