A Kuwaiti police officer from the general security sector called operations and told them he saw a bus full of ‘Daesh’ militants.

Bearing in mind where the call came from, it was taken seriously and state security, criminal detectives, and general security officers went to the area to take action. When they arrived at Abu Al-Hassaniya, they surveyed the area and searched around, but there was no bus to be seen.

The call was determined to be a hoax.

A security source said the officer, a lieutenant in Ahmadi security department, was found in the area, but was extremely drunk. He was arrested and taken to state security for questioning.

Kuwait is not known to have a daesh presence, but the country recently busted weapons and money smugglers with the intent to supply militants in Syria.
