ALBAWABA - A recent tragic train crash in Andhra Pradesh has resulted in the deaths of 14 people, and the reason given behind the collision is as shocking as the tragic incident itself. It is said the train crash was caused by the train drivers after they were distracted by a cricket match on their phones.
The incident occurred back during a World Cup match between India and England, which drew in huge numbers of fans across the country.

India's Railways Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, stated that both the loco-pilot and co-pilot were engrossed in the cricket game, leading to the fatal collision. In response to this incident, the government is now implementing systems to detect distractions and ensure that train drivers remain focused on their duties.
In a totally separate incident, negligence led to a runaway freight train traveling 70 kilometers without a driver. Four employees, including the station master, were sacked due to their carelessness, as the train traveled unmanned for nearly two hours.

India, with one of the world's largest rail networks, has witnessed a large number of disasters in the past, with the worst occurring in 1981 and resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people. Recent efforts have been made to modernize the rail network, including upgrading stations and implementing electronic signaling systems to prevent future accidents.
As the country continues to invest in trying to improve its railway infrastructure, employees need to prioritize safety and avoid distractions, as it won't be only them who'll get hurt if someone were to go wrong.
