She may have won worldwide fame and a Nobel Peace Prize thanks to her humanitarian work – but activist Malala Yousafzai is as scruffy and disorganised as any other student.

The PPE undergraduate, 22, says she gets up late, misses classes, hands essays in after deadlines and has her parents tearing their hair out when they come to visit her at Oxford University.

Speaking to hugely popular YouTube star Lilly Singh, Malala, below, confessed: ‘My parents come to see me and they’re like, “Can’t you clean your room? Have you not changed your bedsheets? What is all this mess? Can you put your clothes back in your wardrobe? Why are all these shoes on the floor? Can you not wash your dishes?” ’

Irishman Allen has even asked his father David some probing questions on the subject of paternity. Allen, who played Tom Branson in the period drama, revealed: ‘I’m not going to lie, I’ve had words with my dad. I said, “Did you work anywhere near Mullingar – where Niall is from – 26 years ago? Or 27 to allow for gestation?” I want a DNA test.’

At least the comparison is complimentary – at 38, Allen is 12 years older than Niall.

Gillian Anderson swore that she would never let daughter Piper, 25, watch her sex scenes in the hit Netflix drama Sex Education, but bungling PRs seated them together at the show’s series two premiere last week. Gillian, 51, and Piper endured the particularly graphic opening scene in horror. And that was just the start!
