Nearly 20 ‘Asian’ expats have been deported for entering the Sultanate illegally, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced on Sunday, April 21.
In a statement, the ROP said, "The police deported 18 infiltrators, all of whom were from an Asian nationality, in accordance with the provisions of the judicial authorities that ordered them to be deported from the Sultanate for entering the country illegally."
According to the police, these deportations take place in accordance with the legal procedures followed in the Sultanate and the international conventions and standards regulating this aspect of the law.

"We coordinate with the embassy of the state they belong to, through official channels to verify their identities and to end the procedures related to their deportation to their country," the police added.
The police also deal with infiltrators in a way that, "Guarantees their safety, dignity and human rights. where they (the infiltrators) are kept in equipped shelters and are provided with all the necessary means of living and treatment until they leave the country," the police said.
