The Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) on Monday refuted as baseless news reports claiming that Minister of State for Investment Affairs Muhannad Shehadeh uses two government-owned cars with the same plate number.
A JIC statement said that the minister, who is also the commission’s chairman, is entitled to only one car from the government, a Tesla, which he uses only for official purposes.
The other car, the commission said, is owned by the JIC and is used only for official long-distance field visits. Social media users circulated a picture purportedly showing two government-owned cars, a Tesla and Toyota Land Cruiser, with the same plate number, which they claim belong to minister of state for investment affairs.

The JIC did not disclose whether the minister uses both cars nor did it comment on the identical plate numbers.
