A Sharjah court has fined a pharmacist Dh5,000 for selling counterfeit sexual enhancement drugs.

The 42-year-old Arab national was found guilty of committing commercial fraud by selling duplicate drugs that was harmful to health.

The Sharjah Appeals Court, however, cancelled the deportation order pronounced against him by a lower court.


Court records show that the Ministry of Health and Prevention was notified by a pharmaceutical company about the convict storing and distributing fake Viagra medicines. He was selling the unlicensed products to some pharmacies in Sharjah.

The Sharjah Police arrested the man after confirming the information.

During his interrogation, the convict had confessed he bought the pills and sold it without a licence.
