Egyptian scriptwriter Ahmed Saleh developed the novel Sana Aula Hobb (First Year Love) by the late prominent writer Mustafa Amin into a TV series which Hussein Kamal has been nominated to direct.
“Mustafa Amin’s novel is rich with events and so it is unfair to reduce them in a film. Moreover the novel tells about an important era in Egypt’s history during the thirties including the important political and social changes. ”Saleh told the London based Arabic daily al Sahrq al Awsat.
The Egyptian TV Production department gave the green light for the script which bears the novel’s title and which Saleh has recently wrapped up.
Earlier Saleh scripted the TV series Saheb al Galalah al Hobb (His Majesty Love) based on the story of the late writer Mustafa Amin after 18 years of his death. The series was directed by the late director Hasan al Imam.
It is noteworthy to mention that five prominent Egyptian directors collaborated in directing the film Sana Aula Hobb (First Year Love) based on the same novel and which was screened 30 years ago. The directors included Salah Abu Saif, Niazi Mustafa, Atef Salem, Hilmi Raflah and Kamal al Sheikh.
The collaboration of five directors in one film is a precedent, which the Egyptian cinema has not witnessed throughout its long history -- Albawaba.com
