Prominent Egyptian singer Hani Shaker’s latest album has been released under ‘Rosanna Music Production Company,’ and not ‘Rotana,’ as circulating rumors claimed.
Hani confirmed that he did not sign a contract with ‘Rotana,’ stating the company failed to make him an offer worthy of his accomplishments and talent as a singer.
Hani expressed concern that the company is already “overcrowded with singers,” and he would not have been given his due attention.
‘Rotana’ and ‘Alam El Phan’ were both eagerly trying to convince Hani for the rights to production; however Hani was not receptive to either company.
The singer broke his cooperation with ‘Alam El Phan’ because it failed to provide the right advertising campaign for his latest album, resulting in low record sales, the singer explained.
His new album features ten songs, including several romantic melodies.
Hani has decided to film a music video for the song “Urbi Leek” (My Closeness to You), and will use the clip, to be filmed between Alexandria and Beirut under the direction of Jameel Al Ghazi, to promote his new album.
Disputes erupted between prominent Egyptian singers Hani and Amr Diab over the song “Habiba” (My Love), which Hani recently released.
After Hani released the song, he discovered that a version sung by Amr was being aired on different Internet websites, although it was not included in Amar’s latest album.
Problems between the two escalated when each singer refused to give up his rights to the song.
Hani argues that poet Baha’ El Din had approached him with the song first, and he agreed to record it and released it on his latest album.
Hani was shocked when one of the musicians in his band notified him that the same song was being sung by Amr, leading him to believe that someone had allegedly leaked the song.
Hani insists that he will not remove the song from his album, since he officially owns the rights to it, and intends to take legal action.
