The prominent presenter of the Middle East Broadcasting Channel’s program Mann Sayarabah al Malion (Who Will Win the Million), George Qerdahi, announced that the program shooting will be moved to Cairo as of next February, according to the daily al Hayat.

“I am the most happy man on earth to move to Egypt, the Hollywood of the east,” Qerdahi told a conference held last week at the Egyptian Media Production City and attended by the Cairo MBC station manageress Nashwa al Ruwaini and Abdel Rahman Hafez, the City director. He added, “the move was delayed for about three months due to the delay in preparation for the program set as it was scheduled for October 2001.”

Qerdahi reiterated that Egypt would enhance the program in view of the fact that it has stars in all fields of specialization and a top enlightened audience. This is in addition of the big facilities which will be given to us and the fact that most competitors prefer to come to Egypt, said Qerdahi denying the presence of any other studio for the program in any Arab country. “Cairo is enough,” he added.

For her part, Ruwaini said, “within the coming few days we will begin training the Egyptian employees for the program. The number of these will reach 100 and will be trained by foreign experts for short period after which the Egyptians will assume the responsibility for implementing the program.”

Hafez expressed his delight with the program moving to Egypt. “The Media Production City is for all Arabs and the fact that this successful program will move to it will open doors for other international programs to be aired from Cairo,” he said – Albawaba.com
