Egyptian actor Nour el Sherif is celebrating his 69th birthday today.
Born in Cairo on April 28, the award-winning star is one of the most recognizable faces on Arab TV and cinema today.
Some of Sherif's most prominent works include The Yacoubian Building (2006), Destiny (1997) and Hadduta misrija (1982).
His life has been somewhat of a rollercoaster lately because of his ill health and the rumors surrounding it.
While Nour's wife Boussi and his daghters insisted that their father was suffering from excess water in the lungs, multiple media outlets claimed that he is suffering from lung cancer.
Perhaps it had something to do with the star returning back home from a medical trip to the US in February, with three ambulances waiting at the airport tarmac for him.
Fellow Egyptian comedy giant Adel Imam has reportedly made an overdue phone call to his lifelong friend, almost two weeks after Nour's return to Cairo from the trip to the US.
According to news reports, Imam apologised for not being in touch any sooner and assured Nour that he will be visiting him soon.
Nour, we hope that you're stuffing your face with delicious cake today without worrying about any health issues!
