This great flick was still at No. 3 for two weeks but slipped down an ironic 3 spots in its forth then another 3 this week; giving it a spot at No.9!
It depicts the story of a young high school kid William Miller, Patrick Fugit assigned to cover the tour of an up-and-coming band, Stillwater, for a Rolling Stones magazine.
Joining the group’s magical mystery bus tour, the young boy gets a good taste for the sex-drugs and rock-n-roll life; and guess what… He likes it.
Meanwhile, the kid also falls for band groupie, Kate Hudson.
That’s all lovely yes, but will he ever get his story done?
Cameron Crowe, director of Jerry Maguire, drew on his own life for this movie.
Earlier in an interview with FOX news, the director said that he “never wanted this movie to feel like the movie at the bottom of the drawer that you've got to endure because the guy had a success before it. There's a very particular cologne about those kinds of projects. I'm really proud that this movie is not a vanity piece," Crowe said. "I really can put this away, now. I really can say, 'You know, I made a movie about it.' And it comes pretty damn close to the way it felt," he added.
This Drama movie is rated R for language, drug content and brief nudity (hard to believe around a rock band!).
Aside from Hudson and Fugit, the cast includes Billy Crudup, Frances McDormand and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
The movie was written and directed and produced by Crow, also produced by Ian Bryce, Walter Parkes and Laurie McDonald and released by DreamWorks.
The movie's total running time is 2 hours and 2 minutes.
In its 5th week out, the film has grossed $2,300,000, giving it a total of $26,700,000.
