Whoever said going to jail was easy clearly hasn't met Egyptian artist Niveen Mandour.

The actress, famous for her role as "Faihaa" in the hit Egyptian movie "Elli Bali Balak," was sent to prison after getting caught with 40 grams of the A-class drug heroin and 100 grams of Bango, a type of Marijuana, according to Nujoom Misr news.

But now that Niveen has been out of the slammer for a while, she's no plans of returning to showbiz any time soon!

Niveen said that "going to jail was a very tough experience for me and a dark phase in my life."

The actress has certainly learned her lesson from spending time behind bars as she's sworn to never go back to taking narcotics ever again, Al Watan Voice reported.

The 42-year-old admitted that this terrible crime has ended her career and affected her personal life. She apologised to her fans and sincerely asked them for their forgiveness. Her only request was not to be judged by them as "I've already gotten the punishment I deserved."

But will Niveen eventually return to the spotlight? According to Al Watan news, Niveen said that once she's in the right state of mind and has rearranged her life, she will think of going back to acting.
