Egyptian actor and comedian, Adel Imam, has revealed for the first time the difficulties he encountered playing the role of a diplomat at the Egyptian Embassy in Tel Aviv for his new drama 'Firqit Naji Atallah'. The drama is a light comedy but Adel has had numerous problems because of his pro-Palestine views.
Throughout the first few episodes of the drama, the actor reveals some of the forbidden taboos of Israel, including: gambling, shrimp, crabs and catfish! Adel says seafood is not allowed into Israel but is often smuggled in.
According to the internet website MBC.net, the drama tells the story of a retired military general played by Adel, who, after being forced to return home to Egypt, forms a gang to go on a bank robbing mission in Israel.
