In his upcoming film "Al Rahina" (The Hostage), young Egyptian actor Ahmad Izz plays the role of an Egyptian scientist who is kidnapped by an Islamic extremist group in Switzerland.

Directed by Sandra Nash'at and produced by Wael Abullah, Egyptian actors Yasmin Abdul Aziz, Khaled Saleh and Mahmoud Abdul Ghani costar alongside Ahmad.

The film marks the second cooperation between Ahmad and Nash'at, the first being "Malaki Iskandaria" that won several awards at the Egyptian Cinema Festival.

“The Hostage” was written by Dr. Nabil Farouq and the screenplay is by Nader Salah El Din.

A protocol agreement was signed in Cairo at the end of December between the International Labor Organization and Ahmad, naming him as a ‘Friend of the Organization’ in the Northern African region.

The agreement is part of the campaign waged in Egypt by the organization under the banner “Kart Ahmar La’amal Al Atfal” (A Red Card for Child Labor).

Izz stated that he is “grateful for the new position,” and hopes he will be able to contribute as much as possible to charitable endeavors to help children.
