Ally Sheedy:
Maybe this actress is most remembered for her artistic touches. Namely, putting dandruff on a painting to portray snow in her role in The Breakfast Club
Currently Playing: Ally Sheedy is locked into a role on HBO's gritty prison drama Oz, set to begin its fifth season. Sheedy plays Lisa Logan, a TV newsmagazine producer who's taping the lives of the Emerald City inmates.
Back in the Day: If Molly Ringwald was the Brat Pack princess, Sheedy was the quirky duchess no one quite knew what to do with. The freckle-faced actresses were up for many of the same parts--Sheedy auditioned for the role of Sam in Sixteen Candles, for instance--but while Ringwald won more pretty-girl leads, Sheedy still managed to capture her share of the limelight. In 1985, she went from dandruff-plagued basket case Allison Reynolds in The Breakfast Club to ultra-yuppie Leslie in St. Elmo's Fire.
The Missing Years: Sheedy never stopped working, but the Brat Pack label didn't help her land quality roles. By 1992, Short Circuit's Stephanie was credited only as "NY Ticket Agent" in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. A slew of low-budget roles and an addiction to prescription drugs followed, until Sheedy got back to work in 1998 as a heroin-junkie shutterbug in the critically acclaimed High Art.
