In the early hours on Saturday November 26, 2011 Egyptian singer Amer Muneeb passed away at the age of 40. The singer was in a coma at the Dar Al Foad Hospital in Cairo.
Amer had been struggling with a severe deterioration to his health in the past year and earlier this month was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Dar Al Foad after his blood pressure dropped tremendously.
A year ago, Amer had undergone surgery in Germany to remove a cancer tumor on his colon and had returned to his normal life but was still suffering from the disease until it took his life.
According to the London based Elaph, Amer had been away from the scenes since his operation in Germany and his last album was in 2008 titled “Hathi Min Al Sama” (My good luck). The album was Amer’s last contribution to the entertainment world.
Amer’s family had refused a request by the Egyptian Musician Association to cover his medical expenses and insisted that they pay for everything. Amer is the grandson of prominent Egyptian comedian legend Mary Muneeb.
