Jordanian-Syrian artist Anahid Fayyad and her husband, former Jordanian Minister Muthanna Gharaibeh, were devastated by the sudden death of their only son, Karam, on Saturday at the age of 14.
Many people were saddened by the tragedy and sent condolences on social media. Many people also said prayers for the families of the victims.
A condolence statement that's going around in Jordanian media says that the death was revealed without giving any more information about what caused it, and the family hasn't said anything about it.
The funeral prayer for the person who died took place at the Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque on Saturday after the Asr prayer. He was then buried in the Hawara graveyard in Irbid Governorate, which is in northern Jordan.
There were a lot of family and friends at the funeral, and the mood was one of deep sadness and loss.
For guys, condolences can be sent to the family at the Al-Gharaybeh Diwan. For women, they can be sent to Abu Muthanna Hamdan's home near the traffic light. People can send condolences for two days, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, before Iftar, which is the meal that breaks the fast. After Iftar, condolences will still be accepted until 10 PM. On the third day, people will show their sorrow at the Al-Halsa Diwan in Amman, Jordan.
Anahid Fayyad is a well-known actress in Syrian theater. Born in Damascus in 1983, she is of Palestinian descent and is a citizen of Jordan.
Her career started in the series "Escape to the Summit" with the late Syrian director Muhammad Fardous Atassi after she graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus in 2004. After her turn as Dalal in the popular TV show "Bab Al-Hara," she went on to be in many well-reviewed movies and TV shows, including "The Palestinian Exodus," "Soft Thorns," and "Tears of Blood."
Reports say that Anahid Fayyad married Muthanna Gharaibeh, a former minister, in 2007. They had one child together, Karam, who stayed out of the spotlight and got lots of care from his family.
