ALBAWABA - Following the shutdown of HiAnime, online reports indicate that another popular anime piracy streaming platform, AnimeKai, is set to bite the dust.

This comes after the developer took to social media to announce that a third-party data center responsible for running the site's servers was burned down. The developer wrote, "Sorry, our data center has been burned :( We're no longer able to provide the file hosting service."

However, new reports indicate that the developer might reconsider putting the site back up due to popular demand. Additionally, by the time of reporting, while the site still operates, users can't stream episodes as they are met with the statement above.

It's worth noting that the piracy site recently saw a surge in users after the shutdown of HiAnime, making it unusable for many users due to slow streaming and loading times.

Is AnimeKai dead? Piracy anime site  announces shutdown

AnimeKai was considered one of the best platforms for pirating anime streaming as it offered users many features, including a continue where you left off, login to sync and track anime lists, personalization, a discovery tab, and a dedicated comment section for each anime's episode. Many pirates took to social media to bid AnimeKai farewell, with several others adding that no matter how much "they" (legal streaming sites such as Crunchyroll) try to purge illegal streaming platforms, a new one will always emerge.

An internet user took to X (formerly Twitter) and warned fellow users not to spread pirated sites on popular social media platforms for fear of them getting shut down and wrote, "A literal perfect site getting shutdown becuase yall can’t keep your mouths SHUT like BRO DO NOT POST OF SOCIAL MEDIA."

Another wrote, "Hianime died, Aniwatch died, now AnimeKAI died we do have alternatives but those sucks, even with adblocker they just redirect to some unholy sites every time you click something."
