As an actress, you gotta do what you gotta do to portray a new character.

Although veteran Egyptian actress Sabreen has been in showbiz for as long as we can remember, thanks to her undebatably great acting skills, she was recently criticised by her more conservative fans for wearing a wig in a new role she's playing this Ramadan.

What's the story? Sabreen wears the Islamic hijab off-screen, but her role in the 2015 TV drama "Gynecologist." requires her to "show her hair," so naturally, she opted for a wig!

A Muslim woman is only required to cover her hair when outdoors or in the company of strange men. Although Sabreen plays the role of a hijabi woman in the series, she put on a wig over her real-life hijab in the scenes where her character was at home with her family.

"People have come to know me as Sabreen the actress, not Sabreen the apostate or hijabi. I could be right or mistaken here, but there's a message I need to get across in the show and God has given me a talent for acting, so I'm using it," Sabreen said in response to her critics, reported Al Jaras Magazine.

To her strict fans, the 47-year-old is wrong in "revealing" her hair, even if it isn't hers, because it looks like she's not a hijabi anymore.

However, the actress had something to say to her critics, "Is it really realistic for a women to keep her hijab on in her own home? I can't just just keep my hijab on and separate myself/character from reality." You got that right!

Despite having a good reputation in the entertainment world, last month Sabreen shocked many of the Arab public to the core when she shared a kiss on the lips with fellow Egyptian actress Suhair Ramzi.

The kiss wouldn't have been half as bad had Sabreen and Suhair not been wearing the Islamic hijab. They have since been accused of immorality, homosexuality and of ruining the image of veiled Muslim women. Clearly, Sabreen isn't giving the hijab a good name!

Can you wrap your head around what Sabreen is trying to say, or do you disagree with her?
