Ooredoo will be staging a free public outdoor music concert for up to 10,000 people to mark its tenth anniversary.
It was on March 15, 2005 that the former Nawras (now Ooredoo) was granted its licence to operate in Oman.
Bollywood singing sensation Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and rising Arabic star Carmen Soliman will be the key performers at the concert, being held at the Oman Automobile Association ground in Muscat.
Greg Young, CEO of Ooredoo, said the concert was being staged at the end of the anniversary week, on Thursday, March 19, as people finish their work and prepare for the weekend.
“We are really excited about bringing two very popular entertainers from the Arab and Asian world to Oman,” Young said. “The event is our gift to our customers and the people of Oman, as we mark this special milestone of ten great years of service to the nation.”
There will be a dedicated family section with seating, and VIP areas for Ooredoo partners and employees. The gates will open from 5pm with Shankar starting at 6.30pm, followed by Carmen’s performance at around 9pm.
Many of their tracks are available for download and streaming via the Ooredoo partnership with the Anghami and Hungama music apps. DJ music, prize draws and laser shows have all been planned as part of the entertainment.
