Syrian singer Asala Nasri is preparing to film a video clip for her song “La Tkhaf” (Don’t Be Scared) from her Khaliji (Gulf) album “Sawaha Galbi” (My Heart Did It).

According to the London daily Elaph, Asala will film the clip with husband and producer Tareq Al Aryan.  The song has been a hit in the Gulf countries and throughout the Arab World.

Asala said that she and her husband make a successful team and she hopes they will continue to work on further project.  She denies that Tareq has forbidden her from working with other producers and may do so in the future.

Asala is working on a new album recorded in the Egyptian dialect, scheduled for release round the New Year. Asala said that she wants to sing more freely on the new album.

The new album features 7 songs handpicked from a pool of 34.  She has recorded 4 songs thus far and will finish recording the other 3 as soon as she returns to Cairo.

Asala is scheduled to host a concert on New Year’s Eve at the ‘City Stars Mall’ in Egypt. She will also participate in the ‘Dubai Night Festival’ after the New Year with Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher on Janurary 2nd 2008.

Asala recently traveled to the United Arab Emirates to film an episode of the show “Inta Meen” (Who are You) aired on Abu Dhabi satellite channel on November 1st.
