Syrian singer Aslah Nasri was the guest on the satellite channel LBC on the show "Sa'a Bi Qurb El Habib" (An Hour With My Love) in which she displayed an attitude that left everyone who watched the show in shock. Her manner on the show was not something anyone can be proud of and in fact she made a total fool of herself on live TV seeing unaware of anything she is saying.
According to the Kuwaiti based daily, Al Rai Al Aam, Asalah was contradicting herself in everything she said. Aslah had told the presenter at the beginning of the show that she will speak freely and not talk about the usual issues everyone talks about and only ones that are of concerns to her. Her main focus on the show was to criticize a previous episode of the show with guest Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi, in which she referred to with negative comments. When asked by the presenter, Tony, if she had watched the episode with Nawal, she said no even though all her remarks were evident that she probably watched the episode a million times from beginning to end. Her comments insinuated that she feels a sense of jealousy towards the Lebanese singer and in fact towards any successful singer referring to them in negative terms a matter which should call for a psychiatric help.
Asalah went on to talk about people and it seems she does not have one good thing to say about anyone. She even made rude remarks towards the Lebanese people openly saying "My popularity sprung out in Egypt and the Gulf and only when I changed my style in dress I became known in Lebanon." With this remark she meant that the Lebanese are not well-educated when it came to music. At this point Tony could not let her remark pass by without attacking back saying "according to one of the greatest Arab singers Egyptian Mohammad Abdul Wahab, Lebanon is the birthplace of all great musicians, and if a singer fails in Lebanon he will fail everywhere else in the world." Tony added that the Lebanese do not appreciate singers who are ill-mannered and have no sense of style and a bad voice.
The singer added to her contradiction when she referred to herself as diplomatic despite her bluntness. She talked about how close she is with her sisters despite the fact she was not on good terms with them at the moment. Asalah added that she would be furious and very jealous if any of her sisters tried to sing. She admitted that one of the reasons for her problems with her sisters is that she is the cause for their marital problems and separation. Her disputes do not end with family members, as she is in constant arguments with other singers, composers, poets, and directors.
The downfall for Asalah on the show was when she talked about her dispute with Syrian singer Mayadah Al Hinawi. Her remarks at this point cause her to loose any popularity among fans of Mayadah and even some of her own. She made comments that where out of place and ill-fashioned. Asalah was trying to run away from any confrontation in the questions she was asked by saying her voice is above everyone else's and she favored it always.
The outcome of the show showed the singer as ill-mannered, badly spoken, rude, a hypocrite, the cause of many problems between family members that in most cases led to their divorce, has no respect for other singers, jealous, and many more other negative traits. All these reasons have in fact attributed to the fact that for some time now her albums have seen a downfall in the number of sales, and she is advised to take a second look at her personality and try to improve before she looses it completely. –Albawaba.com
