The young Moroccan artist Asma Lminwir has unexpectedly gotten engaged to the Tunisian composer and music distributor Isam Al Sharyati, away from the media spotlight. The engagement party, which took place in Cairo, was a small family affair.
According to the London daily Elaph, Asma is very happy. She has been romantically involved with the Tunisian composer since they began working together. Isam Al Sharyati composed the song “Min Huna Libokrah” (From Now Till Tomorrow) that was released three month ago on her latest album. Isam also distributed the songs, “Wahran” (I’m Afraid) and “ Albi Makadibish” (My Heart Isn’t Lying) for Asma.
Asma’s latest album was mainly sung in the Egyptian dialect. Her previous two albums, “Wa Nari” (My Fire) and “Shai Adi” (It’s Normal), were sung in the khaliji (Gulf) dialect. Both were very successful albums.
Since their love story started in Cairo, they decided to get engaged there. Asma said the wedding will be held at the end of July. Presently she is busy hosting live concerts in various Arab countries. Asma also revealed that the couple will spend the first half of their honeymoon at the North Shores in Egypt and the second in either India or Spain.
Asma said that she loves Isam because the two share similar interests, a love for art and music, and what mostly attracts her to him is his simplicity and warmth.
Both artists have separate careers, but may work together again in the future, said Asma.
