Lebanese singer Assi Hilani and Egyptian singer Shireen Abdul Wahab have recently held a tour around Canada that was marked with remarkable success. The two singers had mesmerized their Arab audience by singing a collection of their most popular songs.

According to the London based Elaph, the Montreal Arts Association held an honorary ceremony for the two singers and presented them with awards for the great success they achieved. Both singers had previously held tours around Canada separately, but this time more success was witnessed by the number of people who came to hear them.

On a different note, judicial sources in the Jordanian capital Amman have revealed that Assi, whose real name is Mohammad Zein Hilani, has appeared before court after being charged with fraud. An American-Palestinian woman has filed a lawsuit against the singer and his business manager accusing them of defrauding her of US$ 46,000. The woman stressed that at one point, the singer had shown feelings for her and even promised to marry her. But once the singer took the money from the lady, he ran off and was never heard from again.

Hilani has recently held a charity concert at the Cairo Opera house for the Woman's Development Association Hayati project, in which all proceeds from the concert went to fund a new women's hospital.

Hilani has also announced that the controversy between him and his production company Rotana has finally ended. Hilani stressed that the disputes with Rotana were minor ones and were resolved in very little time. - Albawaba.com
