(1902-1978)

A veteran of theatrical arts and an area on the silver screen, Abdullah Faris was raised in the Mugharbeleen popular street in Cairo. During his secondary schooling, he joined an organization interested in actors. He was 17 years old when organizations began scouting for talent. Those with talent were given a chance to nurture their hobby without any financial obligations. It was George Abiad who initiated Faris into his group after watching him perform in a school production. He gave Faris a monthly salary of 250 cents. Abiad was also very impressed with Abbas’s bass voice.

Faris appeared in several of the first Egyptian movies ever to hit the screens.
