Syrian singer Asalah Nasri has been bombarded with hatred campaigns for her recent verbal attacks against Syrian President Bashar Al Asard and her full support of demonstrators calling for his resignation. Campaigns against Asalah became harsh after she released the song “Ah Law Hal Kursi Bihki” (Oh if this chair can speak), which criticized the crucial treatment imposed by Al Asad and his government on civilians.
The song also signified Asalah’s direct attack on Al Asad and his father and their misuse of power.
Al Asad’s supporters used a new technique to attack Asalah by posting mocking clips of her on the internet website YouTube in addition to humiliating pictures of her like the one of her kissing her husband publicly and others of her in his arms. In addition photographs of Asalah wearing torn pants during an appearance on the talent show Star Academy and other mocking pictures.
The clips posted also featured people badmouthing and criticizing Asalah calling her names and demanding she gives up her Syrian nationality because she is not worthy of it.
Songs of Asalah sung in the past and dedicated especially for Bashar Al Asad like the song “Bashar Al Amal Wa AL Waed..Haris Ahlamik Ya Sham” (Bashar the hope and promise…protector of Syria and its dreams). Many criticized Asalah calling her a hypocrite and not having a definite stance and a person who changes her mind repeatedly.
