Believe it or not!? Latin sensation singer Shakira in Egypt

The Grammy-winning Colombian pop singer Shakira has signed an agreement with an Egyptian organizing company to hold several concerts in Egypt earlier the coming year, according to the Qatari daily, Al Raya. 

 

The newspaper reported on Saturday that Shakira also agreed with few Egyptian composers to work on a joint project to come out with a new song that would appeal to her Egyptian fans. "I will seize the opportunity of visiting Egypt to shoot few music videos in its marvelous archeological sites,” said Shakira. 

 

Earlier last week, 25-year-old Shakira paid Dominican President Hipolito Mejia a visit. She was accompanied by her boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua, son of former Argentine President Fernando de la Rua, and Dominican businessman George Nader. 

 

On another note, Shakira became the latest recording star slated to pitch shoes and clothes made by Reebok International Ltd. She signed an agreement with the company, which will showcase a collection of footwear and clothing starting next spring that "captures the spirit" of Shakira. 

 

Multicultural Shakira is one of a growing number of Latin American singers making a splash on the US pop charts. Her latest album, "Laundry Service," has sales approaching 10 million albums worldwide. Her music combines rock, pop, Latin and Arabic sounds. – Albawaba.com
