ALBAWBA - FromSoftware's Bloodborne is coming back after Sony Pictures and Lyrical Animations announced partnering with YouTuber Jacksepticeye to bring the beloved souls-like game to cinema screens with a new animated movie.
Jacksepticeye told fans, "I am going to do everything in my power to make this the BEST Bloodborne adaptation possible. Not only is it my favourite game ever made but I know how truly passionate the fans of this game are."
According to several reports, Sony Media and Lyrical Animations are co-financing the project.
Bloodborne is coming back, but not like expected: Sony confirms animated movie
The announcement was revealed during the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas on Monday. However, many fans took to social media to point out that what they really want from Sony and FromSoftware is to bring the first game into newer consoles for better performance and visuals, as they still await a sequel to the beloved gothic Lovecraft-inspired game.
A fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Sony will literally do anything with Bloodborne EXCEPT give us a 60FPS patch or a PC port. I’ll take an R-rated movie, but the irony of seeing Yharnam in 4K on a cinema screen before my own monitor is actually insane. We are starving."
Another wrote on the social media platform, welcoming the announcement, "The world is in an interesting place when I trust YouTubers to care more about the source material than a major studio."
Aside from Bloodborne, Sony also announced at CinemaCon that the Helldivers film adaptation starring Jason Momoa is expected to hit screens on Nov. 10, 2027.
