ALBAWABA - Netflix announced that it will be removing the complete set of Harry Potter movies from its platform in the United Kingdom, igniting a massive backlash among fans of the British movie.

The entire series of Harry Potter is expected to leave the global platform on Thursday, January 1, 2026, meaning viewers only have less than a month to watch or re-watch their favourite series.

Netflix also mentioned that the Fantastic Beasts franchise, starring Eddie Redmayne, will also be leaving the platform.

Nonetheless, the platform will be removing another group of beloved family films in early 2026, including Paddington, Matilda (1996 version), and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

After the announcement, fans were angered by Netflix's decision, threatening to boycott the platform and withdraw their subscriptions.

An activist wrote on X, "BOYCOTT NETFLIX AGAIN!!! They just merged with woke Warner Bros Discovery and are pushing anti-American garbage!! Cancel your subscriptions RIGHT NOW patriots!! I already cancelled mine for the 12th time since 2020!!"

Another added, "I haven't seen anybody say it yet, but we should all cancel our Netflix subscriptions right now before the purchase goes through as the most effective form of protest."

In addition, Netflix announced that on December 30, the famous series "Friends" will leave the platform after it has been streaming since 2015.
