Not long after the death of legendary actor Omar Sharif, fellow Egyptian acting legend Nour el Sherif passed away at the age of 69, reported Youm 7.
Born Mohamed Gaber Abdullah in 1946, he went by the name "Nour" because of his grandfather. "El Sherif" was given to him by his sister after Omar Sharif, shortly after taking his first steps in the acting world.
Sameh al Suraiti told Middle East News that Sherif sadly died around midday Tuesday, August 11. He added that Sherief's funeral will take place at the Shorta Mosque at the October 6 Cairo suburb on Wednesday.
Nour was suffering from a series of health problems and has frequently travelled overseas from his native Egypt for medical treatment. Back in February, the ailing actor traveled to London where he was said to be getting treated for severe foot pain due to a lack of blood flow to his limb.
RIP, Nour. You will surely be missed.
